The ScreenBurn Arcade will take place on the first floor of the Austin Convention Center, located at the 4th Street & Trinity entrance on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9th. The ScreenBurn Arcade, an open platform of exhibitors and game tournaments, is free to the public and connects consumers, independents, developers, and soon to be masters of the game world. In the Arcade, companies will display their newest game developments or other gaming-related innovations, and there will be a tournament space for consumers and pro gamers to demo and compete on the latest games.

What else happens at ScreenBurn?
ScreenBurn features 20 gaming-related panels and is scheduled Saturday, March 8th through Tuesday, March 11th in Austin, Texas on the third floor of the Austin Convention Center.

How do I register to attend ScreenBurn?
Admission to attend the ScreenBurn panels comes with your SXSW Interactive, Gold, or Platinum Badge. ScreenBurn panels will be held on Saturday, March 8th through Tuesday, March 11th. The Frag Dolls that will be present to compete against in the 2008 Arcade include: Alyson Craghead “Calyber,” Amy Brady “Valkyrie,” Alexis Hebert “Mischief,” Marcella Luke-Fernandez “Pyra.” Those who are willing to challenge the Frag Dolls are invited to come by and try…You can also win a prize ranging from T-shirts to stickers to portable external hard drives.

The ACC Video Game Development program is designed and developed by leaders in the Austin video game development industry under the direction of the ACC Video Game Advisory Board. Courses are taught by industry video game developers for those who want to become video game developers. The program offers a comprehensive approach towards learning what’s needed to be successful in video game development.

GameCamp! is an intensive summer camp for high school and middle school students interested in careers in the video game industry. Taught by REAL game developers, students learn the world of video game creation from start to finish.

Screenburn will serve as a tool for us to market the camp and inform the public about Gamecamp’s goals and involvement in the community. We will have Wii gaming systems set up, as well as staff on hand to talk with participants about the game industry in Austin.
